C.C. Winn Has a Raider Christmas
On December 16, 2019, 46 students from CC Winn High School took a trip to Texas Tech University in Lubbock. The trip was organized by Mrs. Uriegas, Winn's College Advisor. The students had to be on campus at 2:30 a.m. to depart at 3:00 and arrive at 11:00 a.m. The trip commenced with a brief tour around the university, which included a description of each building and ended with a presentation by a Texas Tech counselor. In the evening, the students and staff attended a basketball game where the Red Raiders came out victorious. To conclude the night, everyone took a quick trip to take a picture with a Texas Tech Christmas tree that stood in the middle of the university. Winn Seniors and the entire Maverick Nation would like to thank Mrs. Uriegas for exposing them to universities that they might not otherwise have the chance to visit. It is counselors like Mrs. Uriegas that go above and beyond to make the future not just a vision but a reality for our students. Go Mavericks!
