On January 13, 2020, Ms. Cruz English III class at WHS has started the year successfully by getting into reading. "Just Mercy" by Bryan Stevenson is a book used as a source in synthesis essay about race and mass incarceration. Throughout Ms. Cruz's teaching years here in C.C. Winn High School she has demonstrated the importance of understanding a good book. It is also important to connect the book to a good essay, showing that the book has impacted the student in an educational way.
