On Wednesday, January 15, WHS's Construction Tech II teacher, Mr. Gonzalez, taught his students what carpentry consists of by working on building and laying out an ending and budding wall. Mr. Gonzalez asked his students to build these walls as practice for a 3-day construction competition to be held on February 24th in San Antonio, Texas. His students have been working very hard and believe they are more than ready for this competition. In the competition they will be scored on how long it takes them to build the walls.
Mr. Gonzalez not only teaches his students what construction consists of, but also teaches his students to be leaders and good role models. He gives them advice on their future and how much there is to do and accomplish in the world. He makes sure his students are doing well not only in school but in life overall. He wants to see his students graduate and succeed.
"If you have a goal or dream, no matter how big, you can accomplish it because nothing is impossible, nothing is going to stop you but you yourself, its either you want it or not."
These words ring loud in clear to many of his students. Go Mavericks!
