Presentation of stoles and certificates were presented to Eagle Pass High School's 2021 Valedictorian and Salutatorian on Monday, May 17, 2021.
Honor Grads were recognized by teachers, administration, and parents while they received their regalia, certificates, and other treats.
Congratulations once again to these and all students for pushing through such an unprecedented school year.
Eagle Pass Independent School
District has partnered with local businesses throughout our city to highlight
the Teacher of the Month program, which honors educators who have made a
difference in our community. The program recognizes outstanding kindergarten,
elementary, junior high, and high school teachers in Eagle Pass, Texas.
April's Teacher of the Month is none other than
RVLA's, Mrs. Luz Yvette Tobias. Mrs. Tobias is as loyal as they come, as she
has been a proud RVLA Little Giant since she received her degree in 2005. She
is an excellent example and supporter to her entire staff as she has taught
kinder for 11 years and even served as the Literacy Coach for 5
years. Mrs. Tobias is very resourceful and is always ready to share her
teaching techniques and skills with everyone around her.
The entire RVLA staff recognized her positive
attitude towards her profession and her willingness to help those out in need
around her. She is quick to volunteer her time with extra-curricular activities
such as; Fall Festivals and Literacy Nights. She is always ready and willing to
take on any challenge.
Her passions towards her students is admired by all
who witness it! She never gives up on any student's learning needs and this is
why they are successful! For all these reasons and more, Mrs. Luz Yvette
Tobias is Teacher of the Month.
A segment will appear on iVision
throughout the month of June detailing many more accomplishments of Mrs.
Tobias. This month she will also appear on community media, news publications
and the EPISD website throughout March 2021. A teacher will be
selected each month through May 2021 for a total of eight (8)
honorees. The “Teacher of the Month” will be chosen based on
educational achievements in the classroom, community contributions and
innovative programs and techniques used by the teacher. The “Teacher of the
Month” will receive a certificate of recognition and will be featured on
iVision, local media news, news publications and radio
broadcasting. Additionally, each “Teacher of the Month” will receive
donations from local businesses.
Each T.O.M is receiving a “V.I.T
(Very Important Teacher) Parking Pass”, a jean voucher for a month, Whataburger
Gift Card, and Class Cash to purchase class room supplies. Additionally, each
“Teacher of the Month” will receive donations from local
businesses. Thank You Border Federal Credit Union, Ashley Furniture,
1212 Chisolm Group, EPISD Spirit Ambassadors, and Peter Piper Pizza.

other than CC Winn High School's, Mrs. Angelica Camarillo. Mrs. Camarillo is
not only the English Department Head at her campus, but she also serves as a
teacher, guide, motivator, and friend to all those around her! She is that
special type of teacher that plants seeds of knowledge and passion that
are used to cultivate a love of the written word.
Mrs. Camarillo's mission is to cultivate
life-long learners and challenge each and every one of her students to reach
their full potential. She designs lessons that nurture a learning community and
allow each student to become a LEADER! Her dedication cannot be measured.
As Department Head, she motivates
teachers to volunteer their time to ensure each student's success; in addition,
she organizes scholarships to award both Winn and EPHS seniors on behalf of the
English Department. There is not something Mrs. Camarillo will not do to help
her students or any staff member. She has dedicated 24 years of her life to her
profession and prides herself on creating productive and successful
citizens. For all these reasons and more, Mrs. Angelica Camarillo is
Teacher of the Month.
