On Saturday, January 10-11,
2014, the C.C. Winn High School UIL Computer Science team traveled to Laredo,
Texas to compete in the Alexander High School UIL Set A Academic Invitational
Meet. The computer Science contest challenges students to study a broad range
of areas in computer science and has both an individual and team component.
Competition consists of a 45-minute written exam and a two-hour hands-on
programming contest for teams. C.C. Winn competed against 7 other schools in
the programming contest and against 21 other competitors in the individual
written test.
Individual results are as followed:
- Jesus Vasquez - 1st Place
- Jose Pedro Jimenez - 3rd Place
- Alan Reyes Rodriguez - 4th Place
The C.C. Winn High School UIL Computer Science Team, coached by Jose Jimenez, also took home a 1st Place Team award.
