The Lady Mavericks of Winn High are beginning to see true success this season.
The team reigned victorious at the Gulf Coast Classic Girl Soccer Tournament that took place on January 19-20 in Corpus Christi, Texas. They were awarded 1st place in the copper division.
Alexandra Bass was named MVP of the tournament for scoring crucial points and making huge blocks in order to win several games throughout the tourney.
This year the Lady Mavs girls’ soccer team has made tremendous progress. This team has accomplished many of the goals they had set at the beginning of this year’s season. Led by head coach Abel De los Santos, many of the girls have been working extremely hard to get the recognition and the support they need from the community. After a few upsets the Lady Mavs began working harder than ever to improve themselves and to better their game.
