C.C. Winn will have “Financial Aid Night”

C.C. Winn High School will host “Financial Aid Night” to help students and parents apply for college financial aid. The event will take place at the C.C. Winn College Lab on February 19, 2014 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm The event are free and open to all students from C.C. Winn High School. Parents and students are encouraged to attend.

One-on-one assistance will be available. Parents are asked to bring in the following items:

·         2013 Income tax return

·         Parent’s birthdates

·         Date of marriage month and year (Date applies for all situations-separated, divorced, widowed)

The Financial Aid Night initiative offers free one-on-one help to students and parents completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) forms for college financial aid. C.C. Winn’s trained financial aid expert Mrs. Maria Luisa Uriegas offers assistance in English and Spanish, as well as information on scholarship applications.

In order to receive any type of funding, students must complete a financial aid application. The sooner students apply for financial aid, the more money they are likely to receive. Every year, aid-eligible students who think they might not qualify miss out on financial aid by simply not applying.
