Mariachi Aguilas del Norte is going to FINALS!!

This year is the first year that UIL has held a State Mariachi Competition.  In order to advance to finals the group must have been awarded a 1st division rating at the region level. Our Mariachi Aguilas Del Norte received a 1st division Superior Rating on Feb. 4, 2016.  Eagle Pass High School was one of 60 groups selected to the finals. 
 They received a Distinguished Performance Award and Jorge Torres was awarded an "Outstanding Performance Medal" for his performance on the song Acompaname. Mariachi Aguilas del Norte is under the direction of Mr. David Solis.

Congratulations to this exceptional group of hard working students!  Mr. Cox commends Mr. David Solis and all his staff for their efforts and preparation for this competition!
