CC Winn Silverline Dance Team is known for their creativity and ingenuity, but this past performance has turned them into internet sensations!
Friday, September 16th, Silverline hosted the weekly Maverick pep rally and made the theme in honor of 16 de Septiembre.
The rally featured themed performances by music group Gente de Rancho, Mav Cheer, Thundering Maverick Band, Senior Alejandro Favela, and HB Gonzalez Bobcat Shimmerz Dance Team. As a nod to the theme, Silverline performed a routine in honor of the late and great Selena, featuring themselves and their special guests "The Silverline Cowboys".
The routine was moving, upbeat, and FUN! And apparently the country thought so too! After only being posted for 1 hour the video had made its way from Eagle Pass, to California, to Washington, and BEYOND!
Here we are only a couple days later and the video is already at almost 1 MILLION VIEWS!

What makes this video truly special is the response people from other school districts and other states. They are applauding Silverline, their sponsor Denisse Villarreal, and of course CC Winn Administration for allowing the students to celebrate their heritage with such ferocity and endearment. The organization and school have received many accolades and have been told that this performance is what is going to move other campuses and states to do routines and pep rallies in honor of heritage such as this one.
Silverline has already been the trendsetting team here in the district and now it is amazing to see them blazing the trail and come to life on a world-wide level!
