Biology fun? No way!
This is most definitely a given in Mrs. Duran’s AP Biology class over at Winn High.
Tuesday, August 28th, Mrs. Duran surprised her students with a fun activity that required them to apply their knowledge in a scavenger hunt that took them all over the campus.
The purpose of this activity was to gauge their background knowledge over 46 Biology terms.
Students received the terminology and were given time to brainstorm with a partner.
After this, they were given 25 minutes to search for evidence of these terms all over the school.
Students were instructed to snap photos that illustrated the terms.
After the scavenger hunt, students were given the task to prepare a PowerPoint presentation for homework.
On Wednesday, each group shared their findings with the class.
The group with the greatest amount of correctly identified terms and pictures won a prize.
Ms. Duran successfully engaged her students in an educational activity that allowed students to see just how much they already knew about Biology.
