September is Leukemia Awareness Month, so the Winn Lady Maverick Volleyball Program decided to honor their very own Coach Corina Benavidez in a very special way.
Coach Benny, as she is affectionately known by her players and students, has been battling leukemia for several years now.
Her players are her second family, and as so, she continues to make an effort to be a positive role model for her girls on and off the court.
The girls know this and to show their appreciation and support for their coach, they wear an orange ribbon in their hair with the message, “My coach is my hero".
In addition, they also wear a warm up shirt that says "Rise Together" to remind Coach Benny that they are in it together every step of the way.
Lady Mavericks Rise Together with Coach Benny!
