Maverick Wall of Fame

CC Winn High School has created a Wall of Fame, where Maverick Alumni are featured.
These alumni send words of wisdom to the Mavericks and explain their journey.
Monday, October 15th, Raul Ramirez was the 2nd Maverick featured on the Wall of Fame.
His words resonated with the students and WHS is proud to call him a Maverick!

One piece of advice that really helped me through the tough times was to never lose sight of the end goal. The main reason I was in school was to get to where I am today, and I knew that there were no short cuts. As soon as I accepted this truth and realized my priorities, making the right decisions to get me there became easier. Additionally, don’t forget to live in the moment and take advantage of the opportunities, because time flies! I remember changing into my Asics training shoes, telling coach “I’ll be right back,” and going for a run into the monte like it was yesterday.... Say “Yes” to things that bring you out of your comfort zone - you may miss out on making new friends, making that connection that gives you an interview or that internship, or experiencing one of your favorite memories to tell in later days. And no matter how far you make it in life, remember your humble beginnings, respect others, be a light to the world, give back to your community, and give back to those that helped you get there. Go Mavs!
