It’s Wednesday, October 3rd, and on this Wednesday, at Winn High School, they wear pink.
As a spin-off of the movie, Mean Girls, Mrs. Selina Martínez created her very own version of, “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink.”
Wait, isn’t that the mean girls’ way of ousting classmates?
Well, at Winn High School they wear pink to show unity!
As a class project, Mrs. Martínez asked her students to wear pink.
In addition, she had them write letters to each other.
In these letters, students expressed their gratitude and various forms of encouragement for their friends and loved ones.
Students were filled with joy upon receiving these tokens of appreciation and encouragement.
In wearing pink, they expressed their unity and desire to spread the love around.
Maverick Nation encourages you to wear pink, not because you can’t sit with them, but because we are all an important part of our community, and as such, we should all be united.
Go Mavericks! Go EPISD!
