Saturday, October 20th, C.C. Winn's Thundering Maverick Band attended their annual UIL marching competition.
They arrived home with their 13th consecutive Sweepstakes, keeping the streak alive!
Since C.C. Winn HS was established as a four year high school in 2006, the band has received a Sweepstakes Award!
The band performed their 2018 production entitled "Marionette" that featured Soloist Yesenia Jimenez on Flute, Fernando Villareal on Alto Saxophone, Jossey Ibarra on Clarinet, Juan Sanchez on Trumpet, and Carolina Ramirez and Mia Uriegas on Voice.
It also had tremendous section, drumline, and color guard features.
They were judged by a marching judge, a music judge, and a visual judge. Those three judges each gave the band a rating of one!
One being a Superior Performance, which earned them the Sweepstakes title.
Band directors would like to thank Drum Majors, Candace Estrada, Bobby Garza, and Jeremiah Segovia alongside Color Guard Captains Brandon Guerra, Bernice Polendo, Corina Garcia, and Carina Galvan for an amazing season!
