Monday, October 1st,
C. C. Winn High School kicked off their partnership with Chick-fil-A and their
Leader Academy.
30 Mavericks
representing various organizations and grade levels were joined by Maverick
administration and their sponsor, Mrs. Dionni Olivares-Wueste, initiating their
program to enhance their leadership capabilities and prepare for their monthly
community service projects. The students make up a diverse control group for
this newly adopted curriculum.
Winn would like to thank
Chick-fil-A Manager/Owner Juan Garza and Marketing Director Jacqueline Garza,
who have stepped up to work together with the group and who have diligently
offered guidance and assistance with this endeavor. A gracious thank you to
principal Mr. Jesus Diaz-Wever for allowing Winn to participate in such an
event, and for his immense support in programs like these that afford students
the opportunities to grow as leaders.
The school would also like
to extend a very special thank you to Mayor Ramsey English-Cantu for his
endless support and encouragement to our youth and their pursuit in becoming
productive and engaged citizens of our community.
Congratulations to
Winn’s Lead Academy and a special thank you to Winn Student Council for the
lovely cake and decorations for the event.
