At C.C. Winn High School learning is fun!
Mrs. Gloria Martínez constantly finds ways to implement educational activities that are both fun and enriching.
Tuesday, October 23rd, students in Mrs. Martínez’s Chemistry class engaged in a game titled “Electron Configuration Battleship.”
In order to successfully play, students applied their knowledge of electrons and atoms.
The electron configuration of an atom is the representation of the arrangement of electrons distributed among the orbital shells.
Students first helped each other in writing electron configurations using their interactive notebooks.
Once students completed this assignment, they battled each other out in an effort to gain extra points in a game of ECB.
The purpose of this activity was to teach students how to look at an element on the periodic table and instantly determine its ending electron configuration.
While participating in this game, students learned and had fun while doing it.
