WHS Continues Research

Thursday, April 25th, C.C. Winn students in Mrs. Flores’ English II class, wrapped up their research paper on careers/professions.
They spent the week of April 15th-18th at the library searching for sources using the library online databases.
This week, they were able to put their information into action.
Mrs. Flores guided them through the research process by modeling how to properly outline their ideas, create their research thesis, and breakdown their sources by using note cards.
Additionally, students were also expected to complete a second section to their research paper. Since they are also getting ready to read, The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo, the students were given ten questions to ask a professional that works in the community and asked to present their responses by designing a Google Slide presentation.
The main character in this novel is in search of his own personal legend, which is why these real world experiences provide the students with additional insight.
The library mobile lab has been a tremendous asset this week as the students wrap up their research papers and presentation altogether.
Mrs. Flores is very proud of all her students and would like to wish them a very successful end to the school year.
