As a part of celebrating Earth Week, Mrs. Idalia Salinas’ English II classes at Winn planted seeds using biodegradable pots on Friday, April 26th.
The students selected from fruit, vegetable or flower seeds.
Students used garden soil then watered their new plants.
Students learned how often to water their plants and to make sure to have the pots by sunlight. The seeds will germinate between 7-14 days.
Once the plants grow, they will be able to plant the whole pot in the ground because of the biodegradable pots. Learning that they need to plant one trillion trees to combat climate change, the students planted two to three seeds per pot.
The students enjoyed the activity and learned so much more about their planet and how to help clean their environment.
