Wednesday, April 24th, Miss Cruz’ English II students at Winn prepared for their research paper unit.
Students completed pre-reading activities about their name and read the short story “My Name” by Sandra Cisneros.
Classes then journeyed to the campus library to use online resources and databases provided by EPISD.
Things such as etymology of their names, Chinese zodiacs, and impacts of culture on a a person’s identity and mental health were researched.
Students were excited to learn more things about themselves and their own culture while starting their research paper.
