English I teacher, Mrs. Torres reviewed a list of prompts students have worked on throughout the year.
She then had the students check mark the essays they'd worked on already and those which they had not.
Those which students had never been exposed to were then put on white post it sheets.
Students were then placed into partners and asked to rotate around the room every 5 minutes.
With a partner, students had to brainstorm a list of possible answers to the prompt, possible thesis statements and possible CHELPS ideas.
Students worked together then jotted down notes from previous groups into their packets to take home and review.
Mrs. Torres is proud of the work her students have accomplished this year in writing and hopes this last writing activity before STAAR will help empower them to write with confidence!
Good luck on your exam Mavs!
Go for the 4! You've worked hard for it!
