Friday, May 3rd, Ms. Lopez' 1st graders at Rosita Valley had an early celebration with yummy fruit cups and candy bags to celebrate Cinco de Mayo
The students learned that Cinco de Mayo is also known as the Battle of Puebla.
The holiday is celebrates the Mexican army's victory over France.
Students also learned that the French lost nearly 500 soldiers and Mexicans lost fewer than 100.
