Reading "Under the Mesquite" was an inspiration for the English I students to draw out their inner poets! Students in Mrs. Torres' class at Winn spent a week writing their own poetry paralleled to themes found in the novel.
Monday, May 13th, Mrs. Torres displayed her books proudly.
Students were even able to present their poems and share a bit of themselves to their peers!
