The school year is coming to an end for students at Winn, but work is not over and school is still a place to learn. To take advantage of the last three weeks of school, the English I teachers at Winn each selected a novel to study with their classes starting on Tuesday, May 14th.
After reading Langston Hughes' "A Dream deferred" Mrs Torres decided to have her students read an award winning play "A Raisin in the Sun" by Lorraine Hansberry.
To begin the unit students began by discussing with an anticipation guide, taking notes on drama, and viewing videos on both the author and the era of study.
Mrs. Torres hopes her students enjoy the novel as much as she does!
