Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) is an umbrella term that encompasses the communication methods used to supplement or replace speech or writing.
AAC can be a permanent addition to a person's communication or a temporary aid.
October is AAC Awareness Month and the Kennedy Hawks want to take the time to recognize all students who use alternative forms of communication.
Please remember to be patient and give someone who is using a different form of communication time to comment, ask and answer questions.
The Hawks appreciate and recognize everyone's different ways of effective communicating.
