Mavs Solve A Murder Mystery In AP Lang

In an effort to better improve understanding on "line of reasoning", on Jan. 23-24, students at CC Winn High School, in AP Language and Composition, were tasked with solving a murder mystery in class. When students arrived to class they were surprised to be met with a crime scene set up at the back of their classroom.

Students grouped themselves off and, using the facts and witness statements provided by Miss Cruz, had to create a line of reasoning for the person or people they believed to have committed the crime.

Students had fun deciphering between logical fallacies placed in the crime scene and the factual evidence given to solve the mystery. Students then presented their lines of reasoning and voted on the strongest ones. Groups that solved the mystery and were voted as having the strongest line of reasoning were awarded with a "get out of one homework assignment FREE" pass.
