EPHS Spanish Students Conduct Interviews in Spanish

Eagle Pass High School's Spanish II Pre-AP students from Ms. Carmen Castañeda's classes conducted mock interviews of famous Hispanic personalities in Spanish.
The students were paired up and one student had to pretend to be a famous Spanish speaking reporter while the other student had to be a famous artist of their choice. The personality could be a singer, actor, writer, athlete, politician, etc.
The object of the assignment was for students to research the Hispanic character's biography as well as mannerism, voice, accents, style of dress, etc. while practicing their target language skills in front of an audience.

Some of the characters selected were singer Vicente Fernandez, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, soccer player Chicharito Hernadez, actor Eugenio Derbez among others.

"I was impressed with the student's dedication, attention to detail, and how much work they put into this project. They showed up with costumes, backgrounds, and props. The audience had a great time participating and asking questions and the best part, everyone enjoyed themselves without realizing they were learning about the lives of the famous Hispanic personalities," stated Mrs. Castañeda.
