EPISD Police Department is pleased to announce their Officer
of the Week – EPISD PD Lead Officer Ignacio Vasquez.
Ignacio Vasquez began his career in law enforcement in 2004
with the City of Eagle Pass Fire
Department Fire Marshal ’s Office. He also worked as a Reserve
Deputy Sheriff for the Maverick County Sheriff’s Office from 2005-2012. In
September of 2008, Vasquez accepted a full time peace officer position with the
Eagle Pass ISD Police Department. Vasquez holds certificates as an Advanced
Peace Officer, SWAT Operator, Police Bicycle Certification and School Based Law
Enforcement.
He also regularly attends active shooter response trainings and is
actively involved in coaching youth football on his off time.
As a police officer for EPISD, Vasquez has served the
district and community in the following areas: Eagle
Pass High School and
currently resides as the Lead Officer for the Eagle Pass Junior High
School
