Winn High School is proud to announce that one of their very own Mavericks is now a Dell Scholar recipient. While many students applied and Winn had 6
finalists, only one got selected. Reynaldo
Ramirez is the lucky Dell Scholar. The Dell
Scholarship program provides a $20,000.00 scholarship along with textbook
credits and a computer.
The Dell Scholars program,an initiative of the Michael &
Susan Dell Foundation, recognizes students who have overcome significant
obstacles to pursue their educations. 400 scholarships are awarded annually, since
2004, students have been awarded with over $76 million in college scholarships.
The Dell Scholars Program places greater emphasis on a student’s determination
to succeed than just academic record and test scores. Students are rewarded
based on Pell eligibility, highly motivated students who demonstrate the drive
to succeed despite personal obstacles.
Dell scholars have demonstrated grit,
potential and ambition in their quest for a college education and CC Winn is proud to say that Reynaldo Ramirez holds all these qualities.
