Thanks to a grant from the Walt Disney Company, the Red Cross is now taking the Pillowcase Project to children throughout the 24 county Gold Country Region.
Robert E. Lee Elementary is proud to have been selected as a pilot school in spearheading preparedness in case of emergencies.
Tuesday, February 27th, Mayor Cantu, alongside, Parks and Rec Director Cuellar, were on campus to oversee the 3 steps students use to stay safe: Learn, Practice, and Share.
Rebel 5th graders learned how to stay safe in an emergency and were empowered to take action by practicing preparedness.
They were encouraged to share what they learned with family and friends, knowing that their information can help create a better prepared community.
Each student received a toolkit they can share with their families.
The City of Eagle Pass will display the Robert E. Lee Pillowcase at City Hall.
