WHS Sound and Fury Thundering Maverick Band

C.C. Winn’s English Department and Sound and Fury Productions proudly presented the highly anticipated Renaissance Fair this February 8th, 2018.
The event started with a campus parade led by the Renaissance Thundering Maverick Band, a select group of students that took it upon themselves to learn renaissance music pieces just for the occasion.
The group took the stage to preform three theme appropriate pieces of music: “Battle Pavane”, “Dead and Gone”, and “Benediction”. Along with the ensemble performances, Ricardo Martinez, freshman, performed the ballad “What is a Youth” from the 1968 production of Romeo and Juliet.

The Renaissance Fair is the Winn English Department’s Parent’s Night where students are encouraged to showcase their talents through multi-media presentations, displays, stage productions and essays based on their study of Shakespearean drama and researching of the Elizabethan era.
