Winn's Faire Gets Hit With "The Black Death"

On the evening of February 8th, Winn's Renaissance Faire was hit with the Black Plague.
Students dressed as rats distributed black roses to the attendees. Those with black roses, reported to the Guild of Science, Technology, and Inventions to learn that the black rose symbolized the "black death" and the history behind it. Presenters dressed as plague doctors, rats, and in Roman inspired attire.

The Guild of Science, Technology and Inventions, also presented various inventions which are still used today. Inventions such as clocks, toilets, spectacles, parachutes, and weaponry. Science and art worked hand in hand, therefore, students recreated various famous pieces of art, which included "The Last Supper" and "Mona Lisa".

After thorough time dedicated for research, students were able to educate their audience on their various replicas. Thus, demonstrating their hard work and dedication to the Faire's success.

Mrs. Leija and Ms. Cruz would like to thank the Maverick Sophomore class for making the Guild of Science, Technology, and Inventions a hit.

Ms. Cruz would also like to congratulate Josue Hernandez and Kayloni Aguilera, representing Ms. A. Cruz's English II and English II Pre-AP courses, were crowned Duke and Duchess of the faire.
Congratulations Josue and Kayloni!
