Eagle Pass
Independent School District has partnered with local businesses throughout our
city to highlight the Teacher of the Month program, which honors educators who
have made a difference in our community. The program recognizes
outstanding kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and high school teachers in
Eagle Pass, Texas.
Once in a while, we come upon teachers who are truly outstanding
at their work. When this happens, it is a privilege to honor them as Teacher of
the Month. Ms. Patricia Flores has been a teacher for 20 years and throughout
her career, she has consistently shown strong leadership qualities both as an
educator and as CC Winn High School Math Department Head.
Her highest priority as an educator has been and will always
remain to serve the needs of her students. She embraces the challenges our our
ever transitioning educational system and adapts her curriculum as well as her
instructional methods without compromising her values and her students' needs.
She is always willing to to sacrifice her time to help and support her school
when needed, whether it is creating new opportunities for students to improve
on their EOC scores or rallying students and staff at sporting events, Ms.
Flores is there with a Maverick shirt on and a smile on her face. She always
works countless hours afterschool to continue build the UIL Academics dynasty
at Winn.
Though she is often seen as a "hard" teacher, students
appreciate her passion and dedication towards their success. Ms. Flores always
goes above and beyond the call of duty to push her students to reach their
fullest potential. Her energy and enthusiasm for what she does is evident in
the caliber of students she produces and the achievement they attain. For all
these reasons and many more, CC Winn High School's Ms. Patricia Flores is EPISD
May Teacher of the Month.
A segment will appear on iVision throughout the month
of May detailing many more accomplishments of Ms.
Flores. This month she will also appear on community media, news
publications and the EPISD website throughout May 2018. A teacher will be
selected each month through May 2018 for a total of eight (8)
honorees. The “Teacher of the Month” will be chosen based on
educational achievements in the classroom, community contributions and
innovative programs and techniques used by the teacher. The “Teacher of the
Month” will receive a certificate of recognition and will be featured on
iVision, local media news, news publications and radio
broadcasting. Additionally, each “Teacher of the Month” will receive
donations from local businesses.
Each T.O.M is receiving a
“V.I.T (Very Important Teacher) Parking Pass”, a jean voucher for a month, 20
