Eagles are Radioactive

Friday, October 5th, the students in Ms. Byrne’s Chemistry class at Eagle Pass High School performed an experiment to demonstrate half life of an isotope.
A half life is the amount of time it takes for half an a radioactive (or unstable) isotope to decay.
The pennies were used to represent unstable atoms and if a penny flipped from heads to tails, it experienced a half life.
The students created an exponential graph to demonstrate their results.
