Friday, October 12th, Guard Member of the Week were Carina Galvan and Bernice Polendo.
This was a special recognition for both members because captains are usually not chosen in order to give the other guard members the chance to be recognized.
However, this week was different!
Mr. Vela selected the two captains because of teaching and cleaning efforts made throughout the week from these two members.
Senior Carina Galvan stated, "With the attention and cooperation of my color guard members, it was easy to lead and teach them everything I had too. I’m truly grateful to be recognized as Guard Member of the Week."
The girls were recognized during half-time at the Student Activity Center during their performance with the Thundering Maverick Band.
