Monday, October 15th, C.C. Winn began Red Ribbon Week, their week long campaign against drugs.
The first National Red Ribbon Campaign began in 1985 with the assistance of the nonprofit organization, the National Family Partnership.
The National Family Partnership was organized in 1980 by concerned parents who were convinced they should play a leadership role in drug prevention.
Since Red Ribbon Week's conception in 1985, the Red Ribbon, has become a symbol of the NFP's commitment to raise awareness of the killing and the destruction caused by drugs in America.
C.C. Winn is committed to raising awareness by actively participating in Red Ribbon Week and one way is by participating in dress up days.
Monday students were encouraged to wear crazy socks, hair, or attire to support the theme of the day, "We're CRAZY About Being Drug Free!"
Way to go Mavericks!
