Tuesday, October 9th, Mr. C. Picazo’s 5th Grade Science class at Darr took their exploration of solutions to another level.
To see solutions in action, the class created Elephant Toothpaste.
Elephant toothpaste is the decomposition process of hydrogen peroxide, while the yeast/potassium iodide works as a catalyst to break down the hydrogen peroxide into oxygen and water.
Soap will then mixed with the oxygen and water, which turn into foam.
