WHS Visits TAMIU

Wednesday October 10th, CC Winn High School seniors got the opportunity to visit and tour Texas A & M International University in Laredo, Texas.
TAMIU has become a solid choice for many Mavericks to continue their studies.
Students were able to complete their applytexas for TAMIU if they hadn't done the application prior to the trip.

Mavericks started their visit with a presentation outlining the university and what it has to offer in terms of majors, minors, and certificate programs.
Study Abroad Office also presented about the possible options for a Fall/Spring/Summer semester.
Students visited the Resident Life Community, which houses freshman on campus.
They even received their very own tour from Maverick Alumni, Evan Rodriguez and Jose Gomez.

Former Mavericks were found in all parts of campus as the Recreation Center also had a Maverick, David Franco, on staff.
David plans events for the REC and will be graduating this December with his Bachelors in History with a minor in Geography.

Finally,  the seniors were treated to a student panel which consisted of WHS alumni.
The students gave sound advice to our senior class.  The panel focused on time management, FAFSA, scholarship opportunities, and study habits.
Students that were not able to attend panel because of classes were Ty Ramirez and Valeria Avila Nursing, but the Mavericks were able to sneak in a visit in between their classes.
Ty is currently enrolled in General Studies classes and Valeria is studying Nursing.
