Friday, October 12th, Maverick Nation introduced its new and stunning "Winn the Day" Field House.
The idea was brought up from Winn's very own Ramon Ramirez who envisioned this bright idea back in the year 2009.
Finally after nine years of patiently waiting, Maverick Nation finally received what they deserved; and that was a 2.1 million dollar athletic facility.
In attendance were numerous school organizations - Student Council, Maverick Cheer, Silverline Dance, Thundering Maverick Band-which adamantly support the Mavericks every Friday night.
Also in full Maverick Spirit were all Maverick sports teams, all of which will use the faculties throughout the year.
Maverick Nation would like to thank all those in attendance, especially the Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees which made all of this possible.
Winn High School would like to thank all guest speakers who had amazing remarks toward the finalization of the field house project.
Speakers included: Mrs. Lupita Fuentes, School Board President, Mr. Gilberto Gonzalez, Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Ramon Ramirez, former school board member, Coach Graf, Athletic Director, Coach Villasenor, Head Coach, and Maverick Principal Mr. Jesus Diaz-Wever.
