EPHS Represents at Cultural Art Fest

The Arts Council of EP’s 1st Cultural Arts Fest was held on Saturday April 13th at Maverick County Lake.
The purpose of the event was to showcase local artistic talent.
There were many great performances from Eagle Pass High School students and staff in the “EP’s Got Talent Stage.”
The show began with EPHS Alonzo Sanchez’ promposal song toEd Sheeran’s “Perfect.”
Of course he got a big ”Yes!” from his girlfriend, and a big round of applause from the audience.
He then performed an amazing duet to “Shallow” with EPHS’ April Gonzalez.
April then sang solo on “En Peligro de Extinción.”
Jesus Vasquez, EPHS student and son of EPHS teacher Mrs. Mayra Vasquez, wowed everyone with the classics “Blue Moon” and “Can’t Help Falling In Love.”
The Galarza’s brought the house down with EPHS Alayna Galarza rocking the ukulele while her mother, teacher Denise’s smooth vocal stylings made justice to the popular classics “Fly Me to the Moon” and “House of Gold.”
EPHS newest rising star Daniel De la Garza on guitar and harmonica closed off the evening with a four song set, “Broken Window,” “Virginia,” “Caroline,” and “Old Time Feeling Like Before.”
He was such a crowd pleaser he played an encore as the audience chanted “¡Otra! ¡Otra!”
Student Council was also on hand to assist with set up.
2018-2019 StuCo President Jacqueline Gonzalez did a wonderful job emceeing the event.
