The students in Mrs. Alva-Rodriguez English classes celebrated World Poetry Day on April 30th by drawing inspiration from written texts to find poetry.
Students chose various themes to which to build their poems.
They wrote on varied topics such as school anxiety, relationships, and gratitude.
Using borrowed words and phrases from famous writers gave the students an extra edge of confidence in formulating their poems.
Activities such as these help students develop not only an interest in poetry but also aids in building their confidence as writers.
