Students learned about persuasive advertising techniques used in print ads and commercials during the month of November, and were then asked to create a specialized "Maverick" item that could be sold in a store.
Every student was required to have two forms of a "sales tactic" that they would use to convince their peers to "buy" from them instead of those in the class.
Their poster board was used to represent their magazine ad for their product, and their verbal presentation was their commercial to the class.
Everyone received twenty Maverick dollars to use as currency to "purchase" from their classmates.
Students competed to see who could be the most persuasive with their sales tactics, and at the same time, they were studying and practicing their terms!
The Journalism classes truly enjoyed the props that some of the students brought in as visual aids.
