Figurative Language is essential when it comes to writing and reading on the new STAAR exams.
A student's ability to not only know the types of figurative language, but also to be able to create, identify and analyze their usage is essential.
With this goal in mind, Mrs. Torres continued to work on Figurative Language skills this past week.
On September 19, 2019, Mrs. Torres-Hdz had her students at Sam Houston work on a 4-square figurative language activity.
Students work in groups to define, create and depict figurative language.
As students completed their square they moved onto the next.
The group to correctly create, depict, and define their figurative language was rewarded!
Mrs. Torres is proud of her Cougars and all their hard work!
She knows that they are learning and they will continue to use all their skills throughout the year!
