On September 23rd, Mr. Purcell's AG Mechanics class was practicing how to cut metal safely with an acetylene torch.
Mr. Purcell taught his class how to safely turn on and off the oxygen and acetylene, light the torch, and cut metal with it.
Mr. Purcell gave a thorough and clear explanation about the importance of safety.
After Mr. Purcell walked through the steps of safely using an acetylene torch, each student was provided with goggles and gloves.
Mr. Purcell then gave a visual example of how to cut metal with the torch and each student, under his supervision, was able to try it themselves.
