EPHS Rear Drop Off Re-Routed

Eagle Pass Independent School District will begin preparation to expand Eagle Pass High School’s Band Hall.  This preparation will begin by Monday, September 9, 2019. This will call for part of the campus to not be able to be utilized to its’ full potential.
The affected area is as follows:
  • EPHS rear (west side) horseshoe student drop off zone and parking area will not be able to used due to part of the horseshoe becoming a part of the construction staging area for materials and machinery.
  • Student drop off zone will no longer be accessible during the construction phase.
This construction will take approximately over fifteen months to complete.  We have attached a map/plan that contains the new route in which traffic is expected to be directed in the mornings and afternoons beginning on Monday, September 9, 2019.
Traffic control will commence approximately at 7:30 a.m. and run until 8:45 a.m. It will then resume in the afternoon from 3:45 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
The attached map/plan shows the traffic flow heading east on Second Street, turning south on Kelso Street towards Antonio M. Garcia Street.  The student drop off zone will now be that of Kelso Street. This is the portion of street between EPHS campus and the Public Swimming Pool.
Police Officers will be placed at locations near the school at street intersections. They will be there to conduct traffic control duties and for student safety. We are asking for cooperation from the parents, staff, and students as we make this new transition.
It will always remain the district’s number priority to ensure student and staff safety.
