Wednesday, September 25, 2019, the US Highway 277 traffic lanes open to the traveling public in Eagle Pass from Veterans Blvd (the FM 3443 intersection) east through the Foster Maldonado intersection will switch from the southern lanes onto the northern lanes.
In addition, the southern lanes and sidewalk will be closed for reconstruction. Access to all driveways and intersections will be maintained, with intermittent closures for reconstruction. Please note that special provisions have been made with phase reconstruction and restrict side street lanes at Foster Maldonado in order to maintain continuous access at this intersection through construction.
However, construction-related work must occur prior to the traffic switch on Wednesday, September 25, 2019:
- Monday, September 23, 2019 – Begin moving portable traffic barriers
- Tuesday, September 24, 2019 – Complete traffic barrier repositioning and begin restriping pavement markings
- Wednesday, September 25, 2019 – Complete pavement markings, move traffic signal heads to north-side lanes, and switch traffic
Please plan ahead, drive slow, merge to open lanes and expect travel delays.
