On September 23rd, students in Miss De La Cruz's Criminal Justice class at Winn High mastered the skill of communication within the law enforcement field.
Miss De La Cruz established the efficiency behind using the Phonetic Alphabet by Law Enforcement Agents. This alphabet is implemented by radio users to be able to pronounce and understand strings of letters and numbers regardless of signal quality. This alphabet is unique to American officers and is useful for communicating information like names and license plates clearly over radio.
In addition, students also learned the "Ten-Codes," which are used to decode a call made by an officer. Ten-codes are brevity codes used to represent common phrases in voice communication by law enforcement agents during radio transmissions.
Students enjoyed the lesson and found the information to be quite useful.
Great job, Miss De La Cruz! Go Mavericks!
