Thursday, October 10th, Mrs. Dunn's eighth grade ELA class at Memorial Junior High was converted into a court room as students conducted a mock trail in reference to Roald Dahl's short story, Lamb to the Slaughter.
Students worked in teams to create a convincing argument to win over the jury. Witnesses were called to the stand to be examined and the entire class took notes of the trial.
The jury then determined the verdict.
Memorial Mavericks developed useful knowledge about law, questioning techniques, critical thinking, and oral advocacy skills.
