Graves Pennies For Patients Donation

Graves Elementary has been an active participant of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Pennies for Patients. In the last couple of years Graves Students have managed to collect $6, 092.19 in pennies from donations.  Students have been joining others across Texas in a program that is instrumental in raising funds for the research of therapies that save lives every year.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services.  The money donated to this organization are spent on patient and community services, research, public health and professional education.  Graves Elementary Principal Sandra Koenig is a strong supporter of this organization and she will continue to allow her school to support this beautiful cause.  The donation window is conducted in the month which students learn about "Citizenship" during their character education lessons under the guidance of Counselor Ana Morales.  Graves Elementary students will like to encourage everyone in the community to help others by visiting the Coinstar machine located at HEB and selecting "Donate to Charity" and then donate to their organization of choice.

Pictured below are sisters Alejandra & Elizabeth Ruvalcaba, who donated over $450 dollars together this year.
