Mr. Jose Jimenez, of C.C. Winn High School, has been selected as the “Teacher of the Month” for April 2015. Mr. Jimenez demonstrates every characteristic of an accomplished veteran educator. He continually exhibits outstanding dedication, professionalism, and a genuine passion for teaching. As an expert of his subject, Mr. Jimenez frequently stays abreast of recent technological advancements and updates his course material accordingly. Mr. Jimenez routinely attends professional development and training courses to broaden his skill set. In addition to personal development, he has been the UIL coordinator for the past six years and has led C. C. Winn High School to their first ever District Title in UIL academics.
In
addition to leadership qualities, he epitomizes the definition of team player
by consistently helping other teachers with lessons and activities. Mr.
Jimenez is known as a tough, but extremely fair and approachable teacher that
is admired by his students and respected by parents. Most importantly,
Mr. Jimenez selflessly provides assistance to students who need additional help
and encourages them toward success with his methods. It is because of all
these reasons Mr. Jimenez is our “Teacher of the Month” for April 2015.
A segment will appear
on iVision throughout the month of April detailing many more accomplishments of
Mr. Jose Jimenez. This month he will
also appear on community media, news publications and the EPISD website
throughout April 2015.
A teacher will be selected each
month through June 2015 for a total of nine (9) honorees. The “Teacher of the Month” will be chosen
based on educational achievements in the classroom, community contributions and
innovativeness of the program/techniques used by the teacher. The “Teacher of
the Month” will receive a certificate of recognition and will be featured on
