On Thursday, April 9, the Memorial Junior High Bands competed at the UIL Concert and Sightreading competition at C.C. Winn High School.
The varsity band, under the direction of Mr. Jorge Vargas, received its 8th consecutive sweepstakes award. The Junior Varsity band, under the direction of Mr. John Munoz, also received a sweepstakes award. The Junior Varsity band has been in existence for two years, and they have received a sweepstakes award both years.
